Solar Farm Technician
Are you a proactive, safety-first Solar Technician who takes pride in keeping sites running properly and problems under control?
Solar Group Utilities is looking for an experienced Solar Farm Electrical Technician to support the ongoing operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar assets across the UK.
This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on keeping solar farms operating safely and efficiently. You’ll be working on sites typically 3MW and above, carrying out planned maintenance, fault finding and reactive works.
You’ll be part of a growing engineering team, supporting the long-term performance of assets and ensuring high standards are maintained across every site.
Key responsibilities:

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on solar farms

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across systems

Support site inspections, testing and reporting

Ensure all work is completed in line with safety procedures

Work closely with internal teams to maintain performance standards

Support occasional project works and system improvements
About you:

Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Experience working on solar farms or large-scale electrical systems

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

A safety-first mindset in all aspects of work

Able to work independently and make decisions on site

Flexible to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays
You’ll be someone who can step onto a site and take ownership of your work without needing constant direction.
