We are proud to have been named Company of the Year at the British Renewable Energy Awards 2023. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have worked tirelessly to build SGU into the leading solar O&M company in the UK.
The award recognises SGU's dedication to the solar industry over the past 7 years, as well as its commitment to communication, transparency, and honesty.

"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have worked tirelessly to build SGU into the leading solar O&M company in the UK all whilst being committed to making a positive impact on the environment through the development and deployment of renewable energy technologies."
SGU was founded in 2016 by Darren Lewis and Stuart Spiers who saw an opportunity to provide high-quality O&M services to the growing solar industry. The company quickly established itself as a leading provider of O&M services, and today it manages over 100MW of solar assets in the UK.
SGU's success is due to its commitment to three core principles: communication, transparency, and honesty.

We believe that this approach has helped us to build strong relationships with our clients and partners."
"Our dedication to the industry over the past 7 years, warrants SGU to become renewables Company of the Year. We have been a hidden partner supplying industry giants with O&M support for the past 5 years, so decided to step out of the shadows 2 years ago, and to be able to see the progression we have made in this short time is nothing short of incredible. This is testament to the drive and ambition of our very own directors Stuart and Darren, the energy, enthusiasm and sheer determination of both have filtered through the company ranks, the on-site teams the eyes and ears on the ground have been phenomenal, and the passion, resourcefulness and willingness to learn has driven our teams to new heights, Darren Lewis, says, ‘without the engineers, the tech teams on the ground, we would not be able to drive the company forwards. Individually, and as a team, each and every one of them has been incredible, we owe everything to the people that support our ambition and drive".

The Renewable Energy Awards was held on June 23rd, 2023 at the London Hilton Metropole.
SGU was one of four finalists for the Company of the Year award.
