What Intersolar Europe reminded me about our industry

After a few busy days at Intersolar Europe, one thing stood out more than anything else. Our industry is evolving quickly, but strong relationships remain at the heart of it.

As another Intersolar Europe comes to a close, it’s a good opportunity to reflect on what made the biggest impression.
There was no shortage of innovation. New technologies, smarter software, advances in energy storage and plenty of conversations about where the renewable energy sector is heading next.
It’s exciting to see how quickly our industry continues to evolve.
But amongst all the new products and technical discussions, one thing struck me. The most valuable conversations weren’t necessarily about technology, they were about people.
Speaking with asset owners, manufacturers, suppliers and fellow industry professionals reinforced something I’ve always believed. Successful solar projects are built on strong relationships just as much as technical expertise.
Technology will continue to improve, and that’s exactly what our industry needs. But communication, trust and collaboration remain the foundations that keep projects moving forward long after the exhibition stands have been packed away. As a Client Portfolio Manager, that’s something I see every day. Clients value knowing they have someone who understands their portfolio, communicates openly and helps navigate challenges before they become bigger issues. It’s about building confidence through consistency, not just when everything is going well, but when difficult conversations need to happen too.
Intersolar is a fantastic reminder that while our industry is driven by innovation, it is still very much a people business.
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to stop, chat and share their experiences over the past few days. It’s always valuable to hear different perspectives, strengthen existing relationships and make new connections.
I’m already looking forward to seeing how many of those conversations develop over the coming months.
Because we care.
